A B Corp-certified digital agency
16i is a B Corp-certified digital agency. We design and build websites, bespoke software and digital products, and we do it as a business that's independently verified to meet high standards on people, planet and governance. Digital solutions, as we put it, shouldn't cost the earth.
If you choose suppliers partly on their values, and more organisations rightly do, working with a certified B Corp gives you a defensible, evidenced answer, not a vague claim about caring.
What B Corp certification means for you
B Corp certification is awarded by B Lab, a non-profit global network, to companies that meet a verified standard across governance, workers, community and the environment. To qualify, a business has to score at least 80 on the B Impact Assessment. The average score for an ordinary business that takes the assessment is around 51. We scored 99.
For you as a client, that matters practically. It means our standards have been independently checked, not self-declared. It's exactly the kind of evidence procurement teams, charities and public sector buyers increasingly need on file. You can read the full detail on our B Corp journey page
Sustainable by design
People and community
The same standards apply to the work
Values don't replace quality; they sit alongside it. We're a full-service agency with real technical depth: design-led thinking, development in .NET and Umbraco, and a team that handles strategy, design, build and support under one roof. We're also honest about our boundaries: we don't offer paid social or traditional advertising, and we say so up front. You get a B Corp that also does excellent work, not ethics in place of it.
Who we work with
Our clients range from Cheltenham organisations to national charities, arts institutions and international businesses, including Everyman Theatre, Grant UK, Dynamic Lives, The Sub Rooms and Elmore Court
Our B Corp commitment in practice
Our certification isn't just a badge; it changes how we work. As part of our B Corp programme, we extend discounts on design and build work to charities, particularly those with a personal connection to the team or our clients. Recently we were introduced to a regional community foundation, a charity that raises and distributes funds to local causes, and were able to offer significantly reduced rates to help them get a much-needed website refresh off the ground, built on Umbraco. It's a small example of using business as a force for good, which is exactly what B Corp certification is about.
Frequently asked questions
What is a B Corp?
A B Corp is a business certified by B Lab, a non-profit global network, for meeting verified standards on social and environmental performance, transparency and accountability. Certification requires a score of at least 80 on the B Impact Assessment.
What was 16i's B Corp score?
We scored 99 out of 200. The qualifying threshold is 80, and the average score for a typical business that completes the assessment is around 51. We're happy to be transparent about our scores across governance, workers, community and the environment.
Does being a B Corp cost me more as a client?
No. There's no premium for working with a B Corp; our commercial model is the same as any other agency's. The certification reflects how we run the business, not a surcharge on your project.
Do you only work with charities and non-profits?
No. We work with a full range of clients, from purpose-led charities and arts organisations to commercial businesses across the UK and internationally. Roughly half our clients are based outside Gloucestershire.
How is your web development sustainable?
We host on Azure green servers powered by renewable energy, and we factor sustainable design choices into every build so the sites we make are leaner and use less energy each time they're visited.
